  Congratulations to Recipients of the 2024 Outstanding City Employee Award and Brian Murphy Award for Leadership in the Workplace and Public Service

  The Outstanding Employee Awards program recognizes City of Cambridge employees nominated by peers, department leaders, and/or members of the community for superior performance, positive attitude, hard work, and dedication to public service. The Brian Murphy Award for Leadership in the Workplace and Public Service is a distinguished recognition given to leaders who display extraordinary qualities in the workplace and dedication to community service. This year's recipients will be honored at a special ceremony on Friday, May 17, at 9:30 a.m., in Cambridge City Hall.

  Celebrate 20 Years of Marriage Equality in Cambridge May 15-18

  Cambridge, the pioneering city that issued the first same-sex marriage licenses in the nation in May 2004, is preparing to commemorate 20 years of marriage equality. Over the course of four days, the Office of the Mayor and the City will be hosting three events.

  Documents will be destroyed on the spot in a highly advanced technical mobile shredding truck and sent for recycling.

  The Arts Council Advisory Board provides guidance and advice on enhancing the lives of the residents of Cambridge through the arts; stimulates public awareness of the arts; and develops ways to improve the aesthetic experience of the people living, working, playing and passing through the city.

  Cambridge Increases Grants for Neighborhood Block Parties

  Block Party season is here and the City of Cambridge is increasing grants for block parties in 2024 to help more neighborhoods hold celebrations. Any block is eligible to apply for $300 in funding and free access to pop-up play equipment.

  Cambridge Plays Applications Open for Spring 2024

  The Community Development Department (CDD) partners with local businesses and organizations to sponsor free events in squares and neighborhoods across the city. Apply to receive reimbursement of up to $2,000 for eligible activities.
